Linux is such a charming operating system, And the fact that is free isn't the only reason why its quite possibly one of the best operating systems around. As of current, I am running Xubuntu as per a recommendation from a friend who is also an avid Linux enthusiast. A link to his personal Blog is here  (www.niemtec.blogspot.com)  His posts are certainly worth reading and he can bring a chuckle with his rants.

But anyway, let me get on to why I have fallen in love with Linux.

It's Free

Now, of course, One of the best things about this charming operating system is its price. It is often said that the best things in life are free, and that is certainly the case when it comes to Linux. It makes it a real choice for students who like playing with their computers and like to try out and swap operating systems. It is a cost effective way of learning about how computers work without having to fork up a large sum of money to buy product keys for paid-for operating systems like windows or having to pay for expensive computer courses while only wanting to pursue computing only as a hobby.

It's Open source

Back in the time of it's birth, the creator of Linux decided to file his newly born operating system under the open source licencing program, a decision that ultimately set the operating system off into the air. It has led hundreds of people to give up their spare time in order to develop an operating system that has a variation, a flavour for everyone, which leads me to my next point..

There are so many variations to choose from

There are a plethora of options to choose from, depending on what you want,  and it is almost always free! It is absolutely phenomenal that there can be so much choice from just one operating system, unlike windows, or the dreaded OSX (which might i just say, is based on Unix, A linux version) You aren't restricted to three or four completely different versions of the same thing. With linux, the distros are completely different, yet completely the same. They are fantastic.

In conclusion, Linux is a brilliant little operating system, who is getting greater and greater recognition with its amazing software. To sum it up, Linux is the quiet kid in class who is modest and unselfish, He is a genius amongst blowhards, He's the strange kid that windows and OSX copyied their homework from to pass the computer science class in high school.
Finally, he is getting the recognition he deserves from the class, He is truely, the cool kid.

finally
