Now, one of the things I enjoy the most, is being able to sit down at my computer after a along day and start designing. even more so if I can find something in particular that I know I want to design for.
Android L will be released publicly in the next couple of months, It's design is completely rethought and simplified. Naturally, taking advantage of this new simplicity, I decided to take a stab at a couple of apps re imagined in the android L design (Material Design).
This is my take of the new dialler, now, it doesn't scream complete uniqueness from the stock one that will come with the new version, however, I thought I would give it a tweak in order to make it seem more intuitive. The designing process for me is entirely limited by the software I have at my disposal (which is virtually nothing, if you don't count the unstable Photoshop I had found online) despite this, I find that Paint.net is a great alternative, it may not have all the fancy manipulation tools that it's competitors have, but it has a sufficient amount of toys to play with in order to get a respectable product at the end of it.
Over the last couple of months since its unveiling, I have done a number of different iterations of multiple apps and various other things, all of which, unfortunately, have been lost due to a recent hard drive fail. curse my persistent laziness and trust of my computer.
In the future I hope to be able to learn an adequate amount of coding in order to produce my own android apps and I hope even more that I can get my hands on a device that runs this beautiful incarnation of my favourite mobile operating system as of yet, Android.
